This one’s a bit of a reunion as co-hosts Mark McNease and Rick Rose welcome Lori and Tom Romero to the show. We know these two creative people from our years with the Friends and Artists Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles, back in … oh, the late 1980s. Can’t wait.- Mark/Rick
Lori Romero is a published poet, playwright, and fiction writer, and was nominated twice for a Pushcart Prize. Her writing has been published in more than one hundred journals and anthologies. She has produced, acted, and directed in a variety of theatrical venues in New York, Colorado, New Mexico and California. Lori’s short screenplay, Strange Saints, won the Manhattan Short Film Festival’s Scripts and Screenplay Competition. Lori made her directorial debut with her award-winning short film SURREAL ESTATE. She is also a co-producer and writer of the eco-drama web series Cyphers. Lori’s feature screenplay CONSIDER ICARUS was a Semifinalist in the 2012 Nicholl Fellowship, a Semifinalist in Final’s Draft’s Big Break, a quarterfinalist in Cynosure Screenwriting competition, and made it to the second round of Sundance’s Screenwriters Lab. Lori is also an avid stormchaser.
Tom Romero is a renaissance man. He has shown up as an actor in over one hundred stage productions, as a composer for several films, as a cartoon voice in fifty two episodes of Super Pig. He has released two CD’s of modern music, one of blues, and appeared on countless other recordings. He’s recently been spotted on TV in Vegas, In Plain Sight, and Lemonade Mouth, in commercials for sneakers and presidential candidates, and as Clare Danes’ boss in the upcoming film AS COOL AS I AM. He is a trained chef and occasionally makes his own beer. In the spring, you will find him chasing down back roads from Texas to Nebraska in search of extreme weather. To date, he has witnessed the touchdown of over twenty-six tornadoes.
