I remember reading Clive Davis’s liner notes for Janis Joplin’s posthumous 1972 ‘In Concert’ album … in 1972! Clive’s been with the same man now for 7 years and we wish them both the best.
Clive Davis — record exec, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, talent scout and five-time Grammy-winner — is leaving nothing out of his autobiography, “The Soundtrack of My Life,” including five juicy pages at the end that open up about his bisexuality.
Along with dishing on some secrets of musicians he’s worked with (how did Janis Joplin want to seal the deal after signing?), the 80-year-old music mogul has detailed some of the gay relationships he’s had during his long, respected career. He’s been married and divorced twice, and admits that after his second marriage ended in 1985, he had dated men and women. He’s been with the same male partner for the last seven years.
