Co-hosts Mark McNease and Rick Rose (together again!) welcome filmmaker Katherine Brooks to this week’s podcast. Katherine is from New Orleans and has enjoyed a successful career behind the camera. A member of the Director’s Guild of America, Katherine spent years in television with credits that include three seasons of the Emmy Award winning show The Osbournes, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, and MTV’s groundbreaking The Real World.
As a filmmaker, Katherine wrote and directed Loving Annabelle, a 2006 film that tells the story of a boarding school student who falls in love with her teacher. She subsequently directed Face 2 Face, a feature-length documentary for which she traveled around the US to meet 50 of her Facebook friends she met online.
Her newest film is CONFIDENTIAL, a story Katherine hopes “will inspire a change in how we view mental illness and LGBT relationships told through the story of a female psychiatrist and her patient.” There’s currently a Kickstarter campaign for funding you can find HERE. Enjoy our conversation with Katherine, who’s as engaging as she is talented and committed.
