Entrepreneurship is something dear to us at lgbtSr, especially when it’s pursued by people over 50 who continue to invest in their passions, dreams and goals. This week’s 50/50 is a perfect example, Rainie Cole of CreagerCole Communications, a company she started with partner Cindi Creager in 2012.

Rainie Cole co-founded CreagerCole Communications in 2012 with her partner in business and life Cindi Creager. CreagerCole provides media training, message development, public speaking preparation, media relations, and LGBT expertise, combining Rainie’s years of experience with Cindi’s background in media that includes stints at ABC News and GLAAD.

Rainie is a decades-long New Yorker with a background in theater, cabaret and television production. After earning a B.A. in Theater & Communications from the University of New Hampshire, she gained her membership in the Director’s Guild of America while working for ABC News  “Good Morning America.” Over the course of her career Rainie has  written, produced, promoted and performed in numerous cabaret shows and appeared in the Off-Broadway, gay themed hit, Ten Percent Revue at the Actors’ Playhouse in Greenwich Village. Her greatest theatrical achievement was one of the most critically and commercially acclaimed shows in cabaret history—Always, Patsy Cline. Rainie conceived, co-wrote, promoted and produced the show, and won a Manhattan Association of Cabarets Best Characterization Award for her performance. Her Always, Patsy Cline success landed her in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Variety, The Chicago-Sun Times, The New York Daily News, The New York Post, New York Newsday, Backstage, and The New Jersey Record.

In addition, Rainie simultaneously spent over 25 years entertaining patrons at Don’t Tell Mama, The Duplex & Rose’s Turn. During that time, she met and built solid relationships with people in various industries as varied as theater, television, film, medicine, and finance. She lives in New York City’s Greenwich Village with Cindi Creager, her partner of 14 years. Rainie and Cindi were legally married in Connecticut in 2008.
