Events: Judy Rickard and Karin Bogliolo to participate in two DC events on binational same-sex couples
Judy Rickard (author of Torn Apart: United by Love, Divided by Law, and a regular contributor to this website) and her wife Karin Bogliolo will be participating in two events this week in Washington, DC. The first is an event organized by Reps. Mike Honda (RFA, Reuniting Families Act) and Jerrold Nadler (UAFA, Uniting American Families Act).
Details of the event with Reps. Honda and Nadler:
Torn Apart: United by Love, Divided by Law
A Briefing on Immigration Law as it applies to same-sex couples
Friday, November 4, 2011, 10:00-11:00
The second event is the PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) annual convention in Alexandria, VA. Judy and Karin will be doing a workshop with others about the immigration problems LGBT binational couples and families face. That is from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at The Westin, Alexandria. If you or someone you know wants to attend that, please email Judy at firstname.lastname@example.org so she can add your name to the attendees list.
Judy asks that you please know that the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on November 3 on Respect for Marriage Act, authored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein and co-sponsored by Sen. Patrick Leahy (UAFA) and others. They hope to attend that hearing as well.
